༈ སྤྱིར་སྟངས་ཀྱི་ལོ་རྒྱུས་ལྟར་དུ་འབད་བ་ཅིན་ གཏེར་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ཨྱོན་གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་གིས་ བོད་གངས་ཅན་གྱི་ལྗོངས་ལུ་དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལུ་བསྐོར་བའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ མ་འོངས་པའི་དུས་ངན་པ་འབྱུང་བའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ ཕན་ནི་གི་དོན་ལུ་སྐུ་རྟེན་སྐུ་འདྲ་དང་ཅ་ལ། གསུང་རྟེན་དཔེ་ཆ། ཐུགས་རྟེན་མཆོད་རྟེན་དང་རྡོ་རྗེ་དྲིལ་བུ་ལ་སོགས་པ་ སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་རྟེན་ ས་རྡོ་རི་བྲག་ཚུ་ནང་ སྦ་སྟེ་བཞག་མི་དེ་ཚུ་ ཤུལ་ལས་ལུང་བསྟན་ཅན་གྱི་གཏེར་སྟོན་པ་ཚུ་གི་བཏོན་མི་གཅིག་ལུ་གོ་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན།

General history of Ter

Generally, according to the history, the Ter is referred to the concealed treasures such as statues, scriptures and stupas which symbolize the devine body, devine speech and devine mind. And those very things were concealed in the earth, rock and cave by Guru Padmasambhava while he was turning the wheel of Dharma in Tibet to benefit the beings in future when crisis taking place. Later on, those things were revealed by prophesied Tertonpas. So in brief, Ter means revealed treasures which were concealed by Guru Rinpoche for the benefit of all beings in future.

ཨིན་རུང་ རྒྱལ་རབས་ལོ་རྒྱུས་དེ་ཚུ་ནང་ལས་ཐོན་དོ་བཟུམ་འབད་བ་ཅིན། གཏེར་སྟོན་ཚུ་གིས་བཏོན་པའི་གཏེར་འདི་ཡང་ དང་ཕུག་གི་ཅ་ལ་རྙིངམ་ སྦ་སྟེ་བཞག་མི་གཅིག་ལུ་ གོ་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན་མས། དེ་ཡང་དུས་རབས་བདུན་པའི་ནང་ ཆོས་རྒྱལ་སྲོང་བཙན་སྒམ་པོ་བྱོན་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ བོན་ཆོས་བསྣུབས་པ་མ་ཚད། ཤུལ་ལས་རུས་རབས་བརྒྱད་པའི་ནང་ རྒྱལ་པོ་ཁྲི་སྲོང་ལྡེའུ་བཙན་བྱོན་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ བོན་ཆོས་ཧ་ལམ་རྩ་མེད་བཏང་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ བོན་གྱི་མཁས་གྲུབ་དེ་ཚུ་ མཐའི་རྒྱལ་ཁམས་ཚུ་ནང་བྱོག་སྟེ་བྱོན་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན་རུང་ བོན་པོ་རང་གི་སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་རྟེན་དེ་ཚུ་ འབག་སྟེ་མ་ཐེག་པར་ས་རྡོ་རི་བྲག་ཚུ་ནང་སྦ་སྟེ་བཞག་ཡོདཔ་དང་། རྒྱལ་པོ་གླང་དར་མའི་ཤུལ་ལས་ དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ནུབ་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ཡང་བོན་པོ་དང་འདྲཝ་སྦེ་ ནང་པའི་སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་རྟེན་འདི་ཚུ་སྦ་དགོཔ་ཐོན་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན་པས།

But according to the history of Royal Genealogies, Ter which were revealed by Tertonpas werereffered to the antique things, such as  in the seventh century, the King TsongtsenGampo had destroyed the Bon choe (ancient religion of Tibet) and also in the eighth century during the reign of King Thritsong Deotsen, the Bon choe was almost eliminated. During that time, the scholars from Bon escaped from the Tibet and headed out to the border regions but their sacred things which symbolize the devine body, speech and mind were required to be concealed in the earth, rock and cave due to heavy load. Later on, when King Lang Darma destroyed the Buddha Dharma, sacred symbolic things were also required to be conclealed such as Bon did.

དེ་ལས་དུས་རབས་བཅུ་པའི་ནང་ བསྟན་པ་ཕྱི་དར་གྱི་སྐབས་ལས་ རྒྱལ་ཁབ་སྤྱི་ལུ་དབང་བའི་རྒྱལཔོ་མེད་པར་ རང་དབང་རང་ཚད་ཨིནམ་ལས་ བོན་པོ་གིས་བོན་གཏེར་བཏོན།  ཆོས་པ་གིས་ཆོས་གཏེར་གཏོན་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ སྐབས་རེས་ཁ་བྱང་འཛོལ་ཏེ་ བོན་གྱིས་ཆོས་གཏེར་བཏོན། ཆོས་པ་གིས་བོན་གཏེར་བཏོན་ཏེ་ ཤུལ་ལས་ཕར་ཚུར་བསོར་དེ་རྐྱབ་པའི་ལོ་རྒྱུས་ཡང་འདུག  ག་ལས་སྒོར་རུང་ ས་རྡོ་རི་བྲག་ལས་ཐོན་པའི་སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་རྟེན་དེ་ཚུ་ ཧེ་མ་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་ལུ་དཀའ་ངལ་ཐོན་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ སྦ་སྟེ་བཞག་པའི་ཅ་ལ་གཅིག་ཨིནམ་ཐག་ཆོད་ཨིན་མས།

Then in the tenth century, during the later dissemination of Buddhism in Tibet, since there wasn’t king, all have freedom and started to reveal the Bon Ter by Bonpos and Buddhist Ter by Buddhists. But there was also history that sometimes by the mistake of address, Bonpos revealed the Buddhist Ter and Buddhists revealed the Bon Ter, and exchanged each other later on. However, all the sacred symbolic things which were discovered from the earth, rock and cave were decided that those things were concealed things when crisis took place in the nation in earler time.

གཏེར་གྱི་མ་འོངས་ལུང་བསྟན།

གོང་ལུ་ཞུ་མི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་དེ་ལས་བརྟེན་ཏེ་ གཏེར་ལས་བྱུང་པའི་ལུང་བསྟན་དེ་ཚུ་ཡང་ བརྒྱ་ཆ་བརྒྱ་ཐམ་པ་མི་བདེན་ཟེར་ཞུ་ནི་མེད།  ཨིན་རུང་བརྒྱ་ཆ་བདུན་བཅུ་དེ་ཅིག་ མི་བདེན་པའི་གནས་ཚུལ་བྱུང་དོ་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན་མས། དེ་ཡང་ག་དེ་སྦེ་སྨོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན་ གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་གིས་མ་འོངས་སེམས་ཅན་གྱི་དོན་ལུ་ སྦ་སྟེ་བཞག་པའི་གཏེར་ངོ་མ་དང་། གཏེར་སྟོན་པ་རང་གིས་སྦ་ཞིནམ་ལས་ རང་གིས་བཏོན་པའི་གཏེར་བརྫུས་མ་ཡང་ལེ་ཤ་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན་མས། གཏེར་བརྫུས་མ་ཡོད་པའི་སྐོར་ལས་ ཆོས་རྗེ་འབྲུག་པ་ཀུན་ལེགས་ཀྱི་ རང་རྣམ་ནང་ལུ་གསུངས་ཡོདཔ་མ་ཚད། ཐའུ་ཀན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་ཉི་མའི་ གྲུབ་མཐའ་ནང་ལུ་ཡང་ རྒྱས་ཤིང་རྒྱསཔ་གསུངས་སྟེ་ཡོད།

Future prophesy of Ter

As given reason in the above, I cannont say that all the prophesies stated in the Ter would behundred percent untrue but it happened that seventy percent isnot being true.

How can prove is that there are real Ter which was concealed by Guru Rinpoche for the well-being of sentient beings in future and  also many false Ter which were concealed by Tertonpas and revealed by themselves. Lord of Dharma DrukpaKuenlek had stated about the existence of false Ter in his autobiography and also ThoukenChoekyiNyima had mentioned about it in detail in his Treatise of Siddhanta (Tenet).

དེ་ལས་ཁག་ཆེ་ཤོས་གཅིག་འདི་ དགོངས་གཏེར་ཟེར་མི་འདི་ཨིནམ་དང་། དེ་ཡང་གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་གི་ ཐུགས་ཀྱི་དགོངས་པ་ལུ་ཤར་མི་འདི་ གཏེར་སྟོན་པ་ཚུ་གི་དག་སྣང་ལུ་ཤར་ཞིནམ་ལས་ ཡིག་ཐོག་ལུ་ཕབ་མི་འདི་ལུ་གོ་ནི་ཨིན་རུང་། གཏེར་སྟོན་པ་རང་གི་ཐུགས་ལུ་ཤར་རེ་ཤར་ཚེ་ གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་དགོངས་པ་ཨིནམ་བཟོ་ཞིནམ་ལས་ བྲིས་བྲིཝ་ཡང་ལེ་ཤ་ཐོན་ནི་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན་མས།

Among them, Gongter (Treasure of Thought) is the very essential thing as it was transcribed into letter by Tentonpas what had been manifested in the heart of Guru Rinpoche after having manifested in their pure vision. But at same time, there were many Ter introduced as a Thought of Guru Rinpoche (Gongter) although those were written all the things what has been raised in their minds.

རྒྱུ་མཚན་དེ་ཚུ་ལུ་བརྟེན་ཏེ་ ལུང་བསྟན་མང་ཤོས་རང་ གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་གིས་གནང་གནངམ་མེན་པར་ གཏེར་སྟོན་ཁོ་རང་གི་ཐུགས་ལས་བཏོན་བཏོན་པའི་ལུང་བསྟན་ལེ་ཤ་ཡོདཔ་ཨིན། དེ་ཡང་ལུང་བསྟན་དེ་ཚུ་ ག་ཅི་བཟུམ་འདུག་གོ་ཟེར་བ་ཅིན། དཀའ་ངལ་ག་ཅི་ཐོན་རུང་ འདི་གི་བཟློག་ཐབས་ལུ་ ལྷ་འདི་གི་སྐུ་གཅིག་བཞེངས་ད་ཟེར་ནི་དང་། ཆོ་ག་འདི་བཟུམ་ཅིག་གཏང་དགོ་ ཟེར་བའི་ལུང་བསྟན་ཙང་ཙང་མ་གཏོགས། མ་འོངས་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་ཀྱི་ འཛིན་སྐྱོང་ག་དེ་སྦེ་འབད་དགོཔ་ཨིན་ན་དང་ རྒྱལ་ཁབ་གཞན་དང་འབྲེལ་བ་ག་དེ་སྦེ་འཐབ་དགོཔ་ཨིན་ན། འཛིན་སྐྱོང་འདི་བཟུམ་འབད་མི་གི་ མི་ངོམ་ག་ཟེར་མི་འདི་འབྱོན་འོང་ག་ཚུ་གི་ལུང་བསྟན་ག་ནི་ཡང་མེད་པའི་ཁར། ནད་ཡམས་མ་འདྲ་བ་ག་དེ་སྦེ་ཐོན་རུང་ དེ་ལུ་ཕན་པའི་སྨན་ འདི་བཟུམ་ཅིག་བཟོ་དགོ་ཟེར་བའི་ སྨན་སྦྱོར་གྱི་ཡི་གུ་གཅིག་ཡང་ཐོན་ནི་མེདཔ་དང་།

Because of that many prophesies were not prophesied by Guru Rinpoche but there are many prophesies those were extracted from the minds of Tertonpas themselves.

you may only find in many prophesies that whatever problems occurred, it is required to build this statue and have to do this ritual practice for that antidotes but you won’t find any prophesy which guides you how to administrate the nation in future, how to make a good relation with other nations, who would come to administrate in such a nation and also you won’t find any idea of medicine for the remedy of various contagious diseases.

ཡང་ན་ཆོས་དང་འབྲེལ་བ་ཡོད་པའི་བོད་ཀྱི་ཆོས་བརྒྱུད་ཆེན་པོ་རྙིང་མ། བཀའ་བརྒྱུད། ས་སྐྱ། དགེ་ལུགས། བོན་དང་བཅས་པ་ལྔ་ལས་རྙིང་མ་མ་གཏོགས་པའི་ཆོས་བརྒྱུད་གཞན་པའི་སྐྱེས་ཆེན་དམ་པ་ཚུ་གི་ལུང་བསྟན་དག་པ་རེ་ལས་ཐོན་ནི་མིན་འདུག།

In other way, among the five great Tibetan sects such as Nyingma, Kagyu, Sakya, Geluk and Bon, except Nyingma there are only few prophesies stated by the noble person from the other sects.

ལུང་བསྟན་འདི་བཟུམ་གྱི་ལོ་རྒྱུས་གཞན་ཡང་ལེ་ཤ་ཡོདཔ།

ཧིན་དུ་ནང་། ཧིན་དུའི་སྔོན་རབས་དེ་ཚུ་ (ཁྱབ་འཇུག་གི་སྔོན་རབས། Vishnu Puraan) ནང་ལས་ མ་འོངས་པའི་རྒྱལཔོ་ཚུ་གི་ལུང་བསྟན་བཤད་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ རྒྱལཔོ་རྣམ་གནོན་ཉི་མ༼ཀུ་མཱར་གུཔྟ༽ལ་སོགས་པའི་ ཧིན་དུའི་རྒྱལཔོ་ཚུ་གི་ལུང་བསྟན་མ་གཏོགས་ རྒྱ་གར་རྒྱལ་ཡོངས་ནང་བཀའ་དྲིན་ཆེ་བའི་ཆོས་རྒྱལ་མྱ་ངན་མེད་ཀྱི་ལུང་བསྟན་ཐོན་ནི་མིན་འདུག དེ་སྦེ་ཡོད་དགོ་མི་འདི་ཡང་སྔོན་རབས་དེ་ཚུ་ བསྐལ་པ་རྫོགས་ལྡན་གྱི་དུས་ལུ་ བརྩམས་ཡོདཔ་སྦེ་ཡིད་ཆེས་བསྐྱེདཔ་ཨིན་རུང་ དོན་ངོ་མ་ལུ་ཁྱབ་འཇུག་སྔོན་རབས་དེ་ རྒྱལཔོ་ཀུ་མཱར་གུཔྟའི་ཤུལ་ལས་ དུས་རབས་དྲུག་པའི་ནང་བརྩམས་པའི་ ཧིན་དུའི་གཞུང་གཅིག་ཨིནམ་ལས་བརྟེན་ཏེ་ ཧིན་དུའི་ཆོས་ལུགས་ལུ་བཀའ་དྲིན་ཆེ་བའི་རྒྱལཔོ་དེ་ འབྱུང་ནི་ཨིནམ་སྦེ་ལུང་བསྟན་བྲིས། ཆོས་རྒྱལ་མྱ་ངན་མེད་འདི་ ནང་པ་ཨིན་ནི་འདི་གིས་མ་བྲིས་བར་བཞག་བཞགཔ་ཨིན་མས།

There are many other history like this prophesy.

In Hindu, when telling about the prophesies of future kings in Ancient Histories of Hindu such as in Vishnu Puraan, only the prophesies of Hindu Kings such as Kumar Gupta and so on were available but not the prophesy of King Ashoka who was great benevolent over the whole India. The reason was that although it is believed that Ancient Histories were written in golden age, in reality Vishnu Puraan was written in the sixth century after the dynasty of king Kumar Gupta. Therefore, prophesies of Hindu Kingswho were great gracious to Hindu Dharma must be written in that history but not the Dharmic King Ashoka due to being a Buddhist.

ནང་པའི་ནང་། འཕགས་པ་གླང་རུའི་ལུང་བསྟན་ནང་ སངས་རྒྱས་བཞུགས་པའི་སྐབས་ལུ་ ལི་ཡུལ་༼UgurXizang༽མཚོ་སྦེ་ཡོདཔ་དང་། འཇམ་དཔལ་རྩ་རྒྱུད་ལུང་བསྟན་ནང་ བོད་ཡུལ་(Tibet or Nepal) མཚོ་སྦེ་ཡོདཔ་སྦེ་ཐོན་ནི་འདུག ཨིན་རུང་སངས་རྒྱས་བཤགས་ཏེ་ ལོ་ངོ་ཉིས་སྟོང་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་ལས་ལྷགཔ་ཅིག་མ་སོངམ་དང་། ལི་ཡུལ་དང་བོད་ཡུལ་ནེ་པཱལ་ཀཐ་མཎ་ཌུའི་མཚོ་རལ་ཏེ་ ལོ་ངོ་ས་ཡ་བག་མེད་ཅིག་ཡར་སོང་ནུག

According to the Buddhism, in the prophesy of PhakpaLangru, it was stated that Liyul (Ugur Xizang) was filled with lake during the life of Buddha and in the prophesy of JampalTsagyud, it was written that Tibet or Nepal was in the form of lake and it was only more than two thousand and five hundred years ago after Buddha got the Mahaparinirva but found more than one million yearspassed after dried out the lake of Liyul and Kathmandu of Nepal.

གཏེར་མའི་ནང་། བདེ་ཆེན་མཆོག་འགྱུར་གླིང་པ་གིས་ གཏེར་ལས་བཏོན་པའི་བར་ཆད་ལམ་སེལ་ནང་ལུ་ཡང་། གུ་རུ་པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་དང་། པན་ཇཱབ་གྱི་གུ་རུ་འཛོལ་ཏེ་བྲིས་བྲིཝ་ལེ་ཤ་འདུག དེ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་པདྨ་བཀའ་ཐང་ནང་གི་ གུ་རུའི་འཁྲུངས་རབས་དང་། གུ་རུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་དང་། དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་ཉི་མ་གུང་པ་གཉིས་འཕགས་པ་ཀུན་དགའ་བོ་ལས་སྡོམ་པ་ཞུ་ཚུལ་དེ་ཚུ་ ལོ་ཚིགས་མི་འགྲིགས་པ་དང་། གུ་རུ་འཁྲུངས་པའི་ལོ་ངོ་གསུམ་སྟོང་གི་ཤུལ་ལས་ བོད་ལུ་བྱོན་པའི་ལོ་རྒྱུས་འདི་ཡང་ སངས་རྒྱས་དང་དུས་རབས་བརྒྱད་པའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཁྲི་སོང་གི་བར་ན་ ལོ་ངོ་གཅིག་སྟོང་སུམ་རྒྱ་ལྷག་ཙམ་ལས་མེད་པ་ལུ་ གུ་རུ་དང་ཁྲི་སྲོང་གཉིས་ཀྱི་བར་ན་ ལོ་ངོ་སུམ་སྟོང་ག་དེ་སྦེ་འོང་ནི། དེ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་གུ་རུ་བུམ་ཐང་བྱོན་པའི་ལོ་རྒྱུས་དང་། ཁེན་པ་ལྗོངས་ལས་ རྒྱལཔོ་ཁྱི་ཁ་ར་ཐོད་ ཤིང་གི་གནམ་གྲུ་ནང་བཙུགས་ཏེ་བུམ་ཐང་སྐྱེལ་བའི་ལོ་རྒྱུས་ཚུ་ཡང་ ཡ་མཚན་ཅན་ཙང་ཙང་ཨིན་མས།

According to the Terma, also in the BarchedLamsel which was revealed from the Ter by TerchenChokgyurLingpa, in which there were many mistakes in recogninizing the Guru PemaJungney and Guru from Panjab. Similary, the birth story of Guru mentioned in PemaKathang, the year in which Guru Rinpoche and ArhatNyimaGungpa had received the precepts from the ArhatKungawo doesn’t match each other. In history, it was mentioned that Guru made a journeyto Tibet after three thousand years of his birth so then how is it possible of three thousand years between the Guru and King Thrisong because there are only more than one thousand and three hundred years between the Buddha and eighth century. In similary way, these were only mysterious stories about the Guru’s visiting to Bumthang and King KhikhaRathoe who was reached to Bumthang in wooden airplane.

མདོར་ན་ལུང་བསྟན་དེ་ཚུ་ མི་གཅིག་གིས་འདས་པའི་གནས་ཚུལ་དག་པ་ཅིག་ མ་འོངས་ལུང་བསྟན་ཨིནམ་བཟུམ་སྦེ་བྲིས་ཞིནམ་ལས་ མི་དེ་ཚུ་ཡིད་ཆེས་བསྐྱེད་བཅུག དེ་ལས་ད་ལྟོ་བྱུང་སྟེ་ཡོད་པའི་གོ་གནས་ཅན་གྱི་མི་ཚུ་ རང་གི་ཆོས་བརྒྱུད་དང་འབྲེལ་བའི་ལྷ་དང་ལྷམོ་ ག་འབད་རུང་གཅིག་གི་སྤྲུལ་པ་ཨིནམ་སྦེ་ལུང་བསྟན་བྲིས་ཞིནམ་ལས་ རང་གི་ཆོས་བརྒྱུད་འདི་ གོང་འཕེལ་གཏོང་ནི་གི་ཐབས་ལམ་འབདཝ་མ་གཏོགས། ལུང་བསྟན་གནང་མི་ཚུ་གིས་ རྒྱལ་ཁབ་ཀྱི་སྲིད་བྱུས་དང་འཛིན་སྐྱོང་། མ་འོངས་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་ཀྱི་སྲུང་སྐྱོང་ཚུ་གི་སྐོར་ལས་ག་ནི་མི་ཤེསཔ་ལས་ ལུང་བསྟན་དེ་ཚུ་ལག་ལེན་འཐབ་པ་ཅིན་ རྒྱལ་ཁབ་ལུ་སྟབས་མ་བདེཝ་འབྱུང་ནི་གི་ཉེན་ཁ་ཡོདཔ་མ་ཚད། རྒྱལ་རབས་ཀྱི་ལོ་རྒྱུས་ཚུ་ཡང་ གཏེར་ལུང་དང་འཁྲིལ་ཏེ་འབྲི་བ་ཅིན། ཤུལ་ལས་རྒྱལ་རབས་རྒྱང་ནི་གི་ཉེན་ཁ་འོང་།

In summary, the prophesies were wriiten by someone to make them believe through writing some passed information as a future prophesy. Then only strive to develop the one’s own lineage by writing the prophesy that prophesies designated and reputed persons as their divine god or goddess but those prophets had no idea about the policy, administration and preservation of nation. So there is a danger of taking crisis in nation if such prophesies were put into practice. In addition, there is a risk of loosing the historyof nation if history should be written in accordance with the prophesy of Ter.

Related future prophesy of TerdakLingpa

Recently, I have got the prophesy of TerdakLingpa from one woman at Thimphu. According to her wish, she wanted to copy it and spread over the others but when I go through it in detail, it wasn’t found worthwhile to spread over. It consists of seventeen pages and I have given in brief in below digramthat what each and every page means about. The main inner topic was the teaching of Great Compassionate Embodiment of Sugatas but in the middle, it was found such an unrelated inauspicious history about the Bhutan. It is definitely sure that someone has put it in that prophesy later on.
